Our Story

Master Auguste continued training and moved up in rank. Because of his dedication, he earned his green belt swiftly. Training was something he truly enjoyed and looked forward to each week.

2007

In 2007, Master Auguste earned his red belt, one rank below black belt. He was so close to achieving what he set out to accomplish, but fatigue set in.

Family is very important to Master Auguste. His mother, to whom he attributes so much of his success to today, even joined him on the journey. It was her willingness and humility to step on the mat with him that gave him the courage to continue.

2017

After earning his black belt in 2009, Master Auguste took a break from martial arts while he focused on school. After a five year break, Master Auguste returned to his martial arts journey – as a student and as an instructor. In 2017, he tested for his second degree black belt.

Master Tripp Davis

Over the years, Master Auguste has become a mentor to many students helping them become great martial artists and the best version of themselves inside and outside of the dojang. Master Auguste attributes his knowledge and teaching style to his instructor and mentor – Master Tripp Davis.

Master Davis has sown many seeds of inspiration and encouragement over the years. He has been an example of how to be an honorable person, a great instructor and an even better man. Master Davis is a man of great integrity and is the kind of instructor Master Auguste strives to be like.

2025

In January 2025, Master Auguste achieved a goal that not many reach. He tested for the rank of master and became a fourth degree master instructor. After achieving this monumental goal, the dream of having his own dojang – 99 Karate – became more vivid.

The name originated from a story in The Bible where a shepherd leaves his flock of 99 sheep to go find the one that was missing. To all that may come through the doors of 99 Karate, this is a reminder that you matter and have purpose in your life.
